5. Will Rogers Turnpike (Tulsa)

 

Sometimes a highway just proves to be obsolete in a time when everything is about convenience. Closed since the late 90’s, Will Rogers Turnpike is now a training ground for various police academies throughout the state, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t explore it on your own time. It’s apparent that the road no longer has much purpose, as it’s scattered with random junk like couches and bags of trash, and the sheer silence of the place proves to be pretty eerie on a gray winter day. With no real purpose and a lack of want to destroy it, this highway may just prove to be here for quite a while.
